ארבעה ימים בבנגקוק Four days in Bangkok

היה זה יום שבת ה 9/1/21 המשפחה השתחררה מהבידוד באופן סופי ,רוח של חופש נישאה באוויר, הילדים זרחו מאושר וחיוך גדול שטף את לובי המלון. השמש זרחה במרום ומזג אוויר מושלם קיבל את פנינו. החלטנו רגע לפני שאנחנו נוחתים באי קופנגן להאריך את שהותנו בבנקוק ולהתאושש מהבידוד.    

הזמנו חדר משפחתי במלון מקרקורי אייביז  , בחרנו את המלון הצמוד למרכז סיאם. בדרך דיברנו על המשך היום, אז מה עושים אחרי 15 יום בדירה סגורה? הגענו למלון ובזמן קצר עלינו לחדר, הדבר הראשון שעשינו היה לזרוק את התיקים על הרצפה ,לקחת מסיכה ולצאת לטייל, אף אחד מאיתנו כבר לא יכול היה לראות 4 קירות. 

מיקום המלון היה נפלא , מקום מרכזי מרחק הליכה מכל מרכזי הקניות הגדולים והמפוארים ,סיאם פרגון, סיאם סנטר,MBK, המוזיאון לאומנות מודרנית הכל בקרבת מקום. כל המעברים בין הקניונים והרכבת בדרך נוחה דרך של גשרים עליים. הלכנו יחדיו לאורך המדרכות, דוכני המזון הפזורים לאורכה קרצו לילדים והרעב התחיל לתת אותותיו. הגעגוע לטעמו של קרפ שוקולד בננה היה חסר להם לאורך תקופת הבידוד, נבחר למנה ראשונה. לאחריו המשכנו את השוטטות ברחבי קומות הקניונים.

נועם שכל כך אוהבת לסייר ולרכוש בקניונים הייתה בעננים, אריאל ואמיתי נהנו גם הם משלל החנויות ,הצבעים והמרחבים. עיצוב החנויות והדוכנים מרשים בהחלט. השפע בהחלט בלתי ניתן להסבר, ידענו שעלינו לעשות רשימה של השלמות להמשך המסע הרי ארזנו את הבית בקיץ והילדים גדלו מאוד בתקופה האחרונה. את הקניות החלטנו לדחות למחר. הרעב כבר החל להציק שוב. החלטנו לרדת לקומת האוכל של סיאם פרגון לארוחת צהריים שם תוכלו למצוא מאכלים מכל העולם. את היום סיימנו בטבילה בבריכת המלון שממוקמת בקומת הגג, וצופה על העיר. בערב, לפני השינה , ישבנו על המשך המסע בעיר.

למחרת בבוקר יצאנו ,כפי שהובטח לילדים, למסע רכישות. לאחר כמה שעות שוטטות בחנויות אמיתי החל להתעייף ואני להשתעמם, ככה זה ששבועיים ללא פעילות מתחילים במסע הליכה.  חזרתנו למלון, יעל המשיכה עם הבנות ברכישות שונות עד אחה"צ. לארוחת הערב, יעל מצאה בקרבת המלון מסעדה איטלקית נפלאה. הילדים השתוקקו לטעמו של אוכל מערבי אחרי שבועיים בידוד.  Mamma  , הבעלים צרפתי הנשוי לתאילנדית.  הילדים התענגו על פיצה נפלאה, מיני פסטות וקינוחים נפלאים. 

למחרת בבוקר החלטנו לצאת לשוטט בעיר, בחרנו לבקר בביאנלה לאומנות עכשיווית שהייתה פזורה ברחבי העיר בדיוק באותם ימים , כהרגלן של תערוכות מסוג זה האמנים תמיד בוחרים מקומות יוצאי דופן להציג בהם , אחד המקומות המרשימים שבהם התקיימה תצוגה היה פיר lhong 1919 , המקום נמצא באזור הרובע הסיני על גדות הנהר. הסתובבנו בחללים השונים התרשמנו מהמייצגים והאומנות, עבודה מרשימה במיוחד הייתה במתחם Wat Pho הבודהה השוכב. אחד מהמקומות המתויירים והמרשימים ביותר בבנגקוק. עבודתו של האמן ההודי אניש קאפור –Anish kapoor הגודל של העבודה והחומר השעווה בשילוב הבודהה, פשוט עוצר נשימה. 

את היומיים שנותרו חילקנו בין אתרי התיירות לבין שווקי העיר, קיבלנו המלצה מחברה על שוק צ'אטו-צ'אק –chatuchak , אחד מהשווקים הטובים והמרשימים ביותר בבנגקוק. לקחנו מונית הנהג היה איש מבוגר ולא דובר אנגלית טוב, עד שהצלחנו להסביר לו ואיך שהוא ביטא את שם השוק אנחנו היינו על הרצפה מרוב צחוק. לבסוף ירדנו בפתחו של הקניון הצמוד לשוק. יש 2 כניסות לשוק אחת דרך הקניון השנייה דרך השער הראשי של השוק. אנחנו שוטטנו בתוך הקניון-טעות, ורק אחרי שיצאנו לאזור השוק הבנו את ההבדל ואת העוצמה של המקום. נסכם לכם את המקום… מה אין שם? יש הכל מהכל ובזול. הולכים "לאיבוד" בקלות.השוק בנוי שורות על שורות של דוכני מכירה, נעליים, בגדים, מוצרי ספורט, אפילו עציצים ודברי אומנות. השוק אינו עובד בכל יום ,לכן רצוי להיכנס לאתר השוק לבדוק. 

לחובבי דגי נוי- בסמוך לקניון ישנו שוק לאורכו של הרחוב הראשי, מלא בדוכנים של יצורים ימיים.  החל בדגי נוי, צבי ים, דגי כריש קטנים. אין סוף לכמויות ,לצבעוניות ולסוגים.     

עוד מקום מומלץ שביקרנו בו, קניון ערי העולם terminal 21 –טרמינל 21 – כל קומה מעוצבת לפי האטרקציות של ערים ממדינות שונות בעולם. קניון מאוד מרשים, עיצוב החנויות כולל תאי שירותים בסגנון העיר המייחדת את הקומה. טיילנו בקומות הקניון אכלנו גלידה טובה בקומת איטליה. ומנת מרק בקומת האוכל ,שנמצאת בעצם בסן פרנסיסקו.   

את יומנו האחרון החלטנו לבלות ב Sea Life אקווריום הענק של בנגקוק. מקום מאוד מרשים עם הסברים מפורטים על חיות הים, הילדים שוטטו בין האקווריומים הקטנים והתרשמו ממגוון החיות, המסלול מוביל לאקווריום ענקי, בוא שוחים להם בנחת כרישים, צבי ים ענקיים ודגי ענק. בהחלט מגוון מרשים של מיני דגים ויצורים ימיים ,כל זאת בקומת הקרקע של קניון Siam paragon הביקור מומלץ מאוד למשפחה. מאחר והיינו בתקופת קורונה שוטטנו כמעט לבדנו במקום, אך בתקופות רגילות המקום עמוס במבקרים.   

נהננו מאוד בכל אחה"צ מדוכני המזון על גלגלים אשר מגיעים אט אט ומתפרסים על המדרכות הם בהחלט אטרקציה מיוחדת, פירות טריים וקרים, אין כמו אננס טרי מקולף או קוקוס קר וטעים לשתות על המקום.

Four days in Bangkok

Finally we finished our quarantine period. To be honest  , it  passed quite quickly and  easily.  But  before we attend to land on the island of Kopenhagen we decided to extend our stay in the big city and recover from the quarantine .

We booked a family room at the Mercure ibis Hotel, we chose the hotel next to the Siam center . It was Saturday 9/1/21, a spirit of freedom was  in the air, the children shone happily and a big smile flooded the hotel lobby. The sun was shining  and perfect weather greeted us.

We booked a shuttle, on the way that lasted 30 minutes, we talked about the rest of the day. so  what do you want to do children after 15 days in a closed apartment? (The answer below). We arrived at the hotel did a fast check in and went to the room. The first move we made was to throw the bags on the floor, take a mask and go for a walk , none of us can see 4 walls anymore.

The location of the hotel was wonderful, central location within walking distance to all the major and luxurious shopping centers Siam Center, MBK, Siam Paragon. Crossing between the malls and access to the train is done in a convenient way, all by overpasses. The Modern Art Museum is also nearby. We walked together along the sidewalk, the food stalls scattered along waked the children hunger signals. The taste of the crepe, which they lacked throughout the quarantine period, was chosen as a first course. After that we continued walking around the malls floors.

Noam, who loves so much touring the malls, was in high mood, Ariel and Amitai also enjoyed the variety of the shops.  The design of the shops  is absolutely impressive. The abundance is absolutely inexplicable, we sat down and decided, we had to make a list of completions for the rest of the journey. The shopping was postponed the next day. Hunger has already begun to plague again. We decided to go down to the dining floor of Siam Paragon for lunch where you will find dishes from all over the world. We ended the day with a dip in the hotel pool on the roof floor, viewing  the city. In the evening, before bed, we sat on the plan for the rest of our days in the city.

The next morning we went out, as promised to the children, on a shopping trip. After a few hours of walking Amitai  has already started to get tired, this is a result of   two weeks without activity , I returned with him to the hotel and Yael continued with the girls on shopping, until the afternoon.

For dinner, Yael found a wonderful Italian restaurant near the hotel. The children craved the taste of Western food ." Mamma ", a French owner married to a Thai. The children enjoyed wonderful pizza, wonderful pastas and desserts.

The next morning we decided to take a tour in the city, we visited the  Bangkok art biennale that was scattered around the city, one of the impressive places is the lhong 1919, who settled  in the area of ​​the Chinese district on the banks of the river. We walked around the various spaces and were impressed by the representations and modern art. A particularly impressive work was in the" reclining Buddha" compound. One of the most visited and impressive places in Bangkok. The work of the Indian artist Anish kapoor (attached photo). The size of the work and the material, the wax, is simply breathtaking.

The remaining two days we divided between the tourist sites and the city markets, we received a recommendation from a friend of chatuchak market, one of the best and most impressive markets in Bangkok. We took a taxi ,The driver was an older man who did not speak good English, until we were able to explain to him and how he pronounced the name of the market we were burst out laughing. We finally got off at the entrance of the mall next to the market. There are 2 entrances one through the mall the other through the main gate of the market. We went inside the mall-mistake, only after we got in the market area we realize the difference and it power . We will summarize the place for you … what is not there? There is everything from everything and cheap. The market is built row after row  stalls, shoes, clothes, sporting goods, even flower pots and art crafts . The market does not work every day, so it is advisable to check in the market site.

For ornamental fish lovers – near the mall there is a market along the main street, full of marine creatures. Starting with ornamental fish, sea turtles, small shark fish. There is no end to the quantities, colors and types.

Another recommended place we visited, the World Cities Mall terminal 21   Terminal 21 – each floor is designed according to the attractions of cities from different countries in the world. A very impressive mall, the design of the stores and even the toilet in each floor are design in the city style . We walked around the floors on the Italian floor we couldn’t resist a good ice cream. And a good portion of soup on the dining floor, of course, is in San Francisco.

The last day we decided to spend at the nearby mall, Siam Paragon. On the -1st floor is Bangkok's huge aquarium Sea life. A very impressive place with detailed explanations about the sea animals, the children walked among the small aquariums and were impressed by the variety of animals, the museum's route leads to a huge aquarium, there swim leisurely sharks, giant sea turtles and giant fish. The visit is highly recommended for families. Since we were in the covid-19 period it was almost empty , but in normal times the place is crowded with visitors.

Every afternoon on our return , slowly on the sidewalks the food stalls on wheels start to show up. They are definitely a special attraction, fresh and cold fruit, there is nothing like fresh pineapple or drink from delicious coconut.
