לאחר שבוע בטולו ,החלטנו להמשיך את המסע, הפעם היעד הנבחר הוא הכפר סטופה Stoupa שנמצא בחלק הפנימי של הלשון השנייה ולא רחוק מקלמאטה.

אנחנו תמיד מעדיפים לנסוע בדרכים הצדדיות ולא באוטוסטרדות. הנוף המתחלף לאורך הדרך, והנסיעה בתוך ההרים היה עוצר נשימה, הרים שנשפכים לים, בתי מגדלים מאבן, מפרצונים של ים טורקיז הרצון לעצור ולצלם כל רגע היה בלתי נשלט. הנסיעה מעט מאריכה את הדרך והזמן, אבל לדעתי זה ממש שווה את המאמץ. תרבות הנהיגה ביוון נעימה ורגועה אין צפירות ואין עצבים. הכבישים ברובם צרים אך כולם נוסעים בסבלנות, רכבים איטיים תמיד יורדים לשוליים לאפשר עקיפה, סה"כ מדינה נוחה לנהיגה. 

לאחר 3.5 שעות של נוף הרים מטריף ,מוזיקה טובה ומשחקי נסיעה מתחלפים ,הגענו לסטופה. הילדים היו עייפים אך גם מאוד סקרנים לגלות את המקום החדש, מצאנו את הבית, הנחנו את התיקים ויצאנו לשוטט. סטופה היא עיירת דייגים לשעבר וכיום יעד תוסס ומבוקש בשל החוף ארוך, החולי והנפלא שלו ולצידו מספר טברנות ובתי קפה יש שמועה שממש כאן קיבל הסופר ניקוס קזנצקיס את ההשראה ל 'זורבה היווני'

החוף נמצא 200 מטר מהדירה, הבתים בסטופה יפים ומרגישים שיש אופי מיוחד למקום

בדרך לחוף עברנו לצד טברנת Melissa Taverna הבעלים ווסיליוס עמד בדיוק בכניסה וחייך אלינו בנעימות, מסתבר שמשפחתו מישראל. אהבנו מאוד את האוכל אצל ווסיליוס, אכלנו קציצות הקישואים,אורז עם שעועית,בשר וכמובן ג'ירוס שהוא בהחלט אחד הטעים ביוון, בכל פעם שהגענו פינק אותנו במשהו אחר, פעם שקית רימונים ותפוזים מהעץ ובפעם אחרת עוגה טובה או מיץ קר וטרי.

 יצאנו לטיול משותף עם הילדים לאורך החוף, בין הבתים וכרמי הזית המפוזרים לכל אורך הכפר והאזור כולו. לשמחתנו זכינו בכמה ימים חמים ,ניצלנו את מזג האוויר לרדת לחוף ולהיכנס למים הצלולים. אם מדלגים בין הסלעים מוצאים כמה נקודות חוף קטנות לרחצה פרטית, הבנות כמובן מצאו נקודה כזאת, סלע ממנו אפשר לקפוץ למים עמוקים ודאגו לאתגר את עצמן ואת אמיתי .

החוף האהוב והמומלץ על ידינו ביותר הוא קלוגריה Kalogria  הנמצא במרחק הליכה קלה או נסיעה קצרה, מובילים לרצועת חוף רחבה ,חול נעים ומים צלולים ונוף מרהיב. העברנו שם ימים שלמים, הילדים החליטו להקים מחנה, מצאו שמשיה ,כיסאות, ענפים ועמוד של שלט. כך העבירו את היום בין שחייה לסידור ושהות במחנה.

במהלך השהות בכפר, יעל הכירה את דימטרי, פנסיונר יווני שמשפחתו הכריחה אותו להתרחק מאתונה האדומה ולשהות בבית הקיץ שלהם בסטופה, הוא נתן לנו המלצות על האזור. אחת ההמלצות הטובות הייתה מסלול הליכה לאורך הטיילת בין סטופה ועד אגיוס ניקולאוס Agios Nikolaos, כפר הדייגים הסמוך 4.5 ק"מ לכל כיוון בין הים לכרמי הזיתים והבתים המבודדים מסלול נוח לפעילות ספורטיבית ונוף מדהים.

Peloponnese part 2

After a week in Tolo, we decided to continue the journey, this time the chosen destination is the village of Stoupa which is located in the inner part of the second tongue and not far from Kalamata

We always prefer to travel on side roads rather than highways. The landscape changes along the way, and the ride inside the mountains was breathtaking, mountains spilling into the sea, stone towers, turquoise sea coves the desire to stop and photograph every moment was uncontrollable. The ride slightly lengthens the road and time, but I think it's really worth the effort. The driving culture in Greece is pleasant and calm with no sirens and no nerves. The roads are mostly narrow but they all drive patiently, slow vehicles always go down to the curb to allow for detours, overall a country comfortable to drive.

After 3.5 hours of good music and alternating driving games, we arrived at Stoupa. The kids were tired but also very curious to discover the new place, we found the house, put down our bags and went for a walk. Stoupa is a former fishing town and today a vibrant and highly popular due to its wonderful beach. The beach is long and sandy and next to it a number of taverns and coffee's There is a rumor that right here the writer Nikos Kazantzkis was inspired by the 'Greek Zorba'

The beach is 200 meters from the apartment, and the houses are beautiful and feel very special. on the way to the beach we passed next to Melissa Taverna. We really liked the food at Vasilios at Mellissa, we ate the zucchini bolls, rice with beans, meat and of course gyrus which is definitely one of the tastiest in Greece, every time we arrived we were treated with something different, once a bag of pomegranates and oranges from the tree and another time a good cake or cold and fresh juice.

We went for a walk with the children along the beach, between the houses and the olive groves scattered all over the village and the whole area. Luckily we won some hot days, took advantage of the weather to go down to the beach and get into the clear water. If you skip between the rocks you find some small beach points for private bathing, the girls of course found such a point, a rock from which you can jump into deep water and take care to challenge yourself and Amitai.

Our favorite and most recommended beach is Kalogria which is within easy walking distance or a short drive, leading to a wide strip of beach, pleasant sand and clear water and spectacular views. We spent whole days there, the kids decided to set up camp, found a parasol, chairs, branches and a signpost. This is how they spent the day between swimming and arranging and staying in the camp.

During his stay in the village, Yael met Dimitri, a Greek pensioner whose family forced him to stay away from Red Athens and stay at their summer home in Stoupa, he gave us recommendations about the area. One of the best recommendations was a walking route along the promenade between Stupa to Agios Nichols, the nearby fishing village 4.5 km in each direction between the sea and the olive groves a convenient route for sports activities and amazing views.
